We had the opportunity to chat with a few of our customers about their experience receiving or gifting one of our personalized designs. Next up in the series: Christina.
For Valentine’s Day, Christina gifted Scott, her astronomy-loving husband, a Star Map featuring 3 Night Skies. In her interview, she talks about the significance of the three night skies.
Passionate about astronomy
Scott has been passionate about astronomy since he was a kid, according to his wife, Christina.
Searching for a Valentine’s gift for her husband, Christina had seen night sky prints for a while before she decided to purchase one.
On the left of the design is a circle with the night sky pattern from Scott’s birth date and location, and on the right, Christina’s. What sold her on this particular design was that she could put a heart in the middle — the star pattern that showed the location of her and Scott’s 2010 wedding in Dahlonega, Georgia.
“I knew he really liked it.”
While Scott doesn’t normally get excited, Christina said, she could tell he loved the Valentine’s gift when he received it.
“It was really cute when I gave it to him,” Christina said.
He sat with it on his lap just looking over what he could see, the galaxies he could see.
“It made me really happy. I knew he really liked it.”
Christina and Scott are total opposites, she said. While she is incredibly outgoing and talkative, Scott is shy and quiet. The two met and started dating because they worked together and would chat during breaks or over lunch.
“There was a coworker that knew him for years and he would sit and listen to my dating woes, and he was like, ‘Scott’s a nice guy. Why don’t you talk to Scott?’” Christina said.
After a while of getting to know each other at work, the two began spending extra time together, going for walks at the mall or park, although still not technically “dating.”
From Coworkers to Couple
“All of a sudden one day, we were out in the parking lot of the mall and he just kissed me,” Christina said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, does that mean we’re dating?’ And he wouldn’t tell me until he got home, and then he texted me and said, ‘Yes, we’re dating.’”
The two will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary this September.
“He’s a sweet, sweet guy,” Christina said. “So I’m really lucky to have him.”
