Tommy Dierkes was in search of the perfect wedding present for his friends Paul and Helen, who married last November in Point Clear, Alabama. When he stumbled across the Spiral Text design, he contacted Helen's sister to ask what the wedding song would be.
“I was tired of buying wine glasses or trash cans for my friends.”
“The gift that Ashley (and Eric) offers is just so special. It incorporates the elements of the location and the stars - how they looked in the universe that night - and the first dance, the song lyrics written around that,” Tommy said. “It was just the perfect gift for them, and so I couldn't have asked for a better find when I just haphazardly typed in (and searched for) ‘personalized wedding gifts.’”
Tommy has a long history with the bride and groom. “They make you feel so at ease. Like you’re at home with them,” Tommy said. “And because of that, I really wanted to go the extra mile and give her and Paul a meaningful gift that they would cherish long after the initial unwrapping of the present.”
Once the design was created and shipped to Paul and Helen in Washington, D.C., Tommy received a “thank you” note in the mail shortly after. “Helen said she was moved to tears when opening it, just because it reminded her so much of her wedding day,” Tommy said.
Paul and Helen’s wedding day was special. “You just felt the love. It’s hard to describe,” Tommy said. “It was so thoughtful.” The homey feeling that Paul and Helen bring to their friendships was extended to all their guests on the couple’s wedding day, leaving a lasting feeling of love for everyone who was a part of the event. “We just danced all night,” Tommy said. “It was a homecoming for all of us.”
